Not explained by the sources we can cite. Know Your Meme offers no translation and treats Boneca Ambalabu as a character name rather than a phrase, so this site does not guess at one. The name comes from the Indonesian voiceover, not from Italian.
Where it came from
Know Your Meme dates the first TikTok post to February 2, 2025, by @ofuscabreno, the account it also credits with Frigo Camelo and Brr Brr Patapim, and counts over 7.7 million views in two months. It places the character in the Indonesian brainrot strand that runs alongside the Italian one.
Why it spread
Indonesia proved to be one of the trend's biggest exporters. AFP quotes a University of Amsterdam researcher on the reach of Indonesian posting, and the Guardian notes that the Indonesian characters travel with voiceovers meant to confuse rather than explain, which works about equally well in any language.
