Know Your Meme records the earliest confirmed post on TikTok on March 2, 2025, by an account it lists as reisonbs, and places the character in the Indonesian strand of the trend rather than the Italian one. It does not name a creator. It also records an April 15, 2025 YouTube funk remix later passing 10 million views.
Why it spread
Indonesian accounts turned out to be a large exporter of these characters. AFP quotes a University of Amsterdam researcher on how many people in Indonesia share posts that reach a global audience, and lists a muscular orange among the characters readers will recognize. Remixes then carried the sound far past the original clip.
