They are AI-generated meme creatures from a trend that emerged in early 2025: absurd hybrids of animals, food and objects with mock-Italian names, such as Tralalero Tralala, Tung Tung Tung Sahur, Ballerina Cappuccina and Bombardiro Crocodilo. Each spread as a picture with a sing-song voiceover and was then remixed endlessly.

There is no fixed number. Anyone can generate a new one, and hundreds have circulated. A few dozen are widely recognized, and this list covers the ones people search for most.

Are they really Italian?

Mostly not. The names imitate the sound of Italian, and the voiceovers are usually synthetic Italian speech, but the characters were made by creators in many countries. Tung Tung Tung Sahur, for one, comes from Indonesia.
